How things have changed since we moved to the area in 2015

The creation of Babbling Brook cottage Devon, campsite and other dog friendly onsite attractions.

It all started in 2015 when Darren & Sarah become the new Owners of Kipscombe. Kipscombe comprised of a Farm House with a detached Annex and 11.4 acres of land. They immediately spotted the potential to make Kipscombe and it's land into a one of the most dog friendly holiday destinations in North Devon. It seemed most sensible to call their business 'Kipscombe holidays' which became the website featuring all their offerings. 

They spent the first few months renovating the annex to make it more appealing to holiday guests with dogs. Improvement were made throughout the property including a fresh pallet of colour, the garden was fenced and gated and a small Paddock was created so guests could exercise their dogs. The holiday cottage then got it's named 'Babbling Brook Cottage' due to the sound of brook that ran through the land. 

They ran the whole set up for 9 years before sadly selling Kipscombe the holiday cottage and 3 acres of land to new owners in October 2023. 

It's not the END, we moved just 200 yards further East

It was not the end of Darren and Sarah's ambition to create something special for dog and owner, they also did not move far, in fact about 200 yards what was once land of Kipscombe. 

In 2023 planning permission was achieved to convert a redundant farm building on the land. This is to become our new home.

Planning was also achieved for two holiday lets where the campsite was. One has now been built and ready for guests. This is Called Swallows Roost
